Adoption Center / All Fanlistings: Bleach, HxH, Nana, E
« on: June 23, 2012, 09:48:47 AM »
Hi everyone!

I must've been adsent from both this community and the website making world for years now. Finally I have decide to adopt everything out because I must recognize with my lifestyle I will not have time to go back anymore. My current host and dear friend, Shaza, is also moving on, so everything must go.

Deadline is end of June. I believe my website will shut down in July. So if I don't adopt these out, everything would be gone and you'd have to go through with the afl application process, and I wouldn't be able to get the database.

General Questions and Discussion / The Codes Rule #2
« on: October 07, 2007, 02:14:22 PM »
well I don't feel like saying much about the mangaka, since I already edited everything, LOL. But I know I was freaking out when I got the trouble e-mail because I thought I would need to add names for the hundred something codes I have for all my character fanlistings. when I read over the rule written on the website, it could be easily interpreted as *the image should accurately reflect the subject and put the subject of your fanlisting on your code. but of course as explained on the forum, if the image accurately reflect the subject, the wording is not necessary. but when the rule is actually enforced, I'm sure there are variations in how the staffers carry this out because I think they too, have their own interpretation of the rule.

so I really hope the rule can be more specific... so when the trouble mail comes, (which usually doesn't specify what kind of code problem there is), I can look at the rule and say, okay, I need to put the subject on the code, or , okay, fanart is not permitted and such.

General Questions and Discussion / The Codes Rule #2
« on: October 06, 2007, 12:33:29 PM »
can the rules be a more specific? I mean it is a pretty new rule, and I think everyone has a very vague idea of what is really requested by TAFL. For example, I was asked a few weeks earlier about adding the the name of the mangaka to my kishimoto masashi fanlisting's code, I thought that as long as the code represents the subject, I was fine because I have the man himself on the code banner. but I was enlisted for trouble, so I had to add the mangaka's name. when I checked the forum topics a few weeks later, one of the staffers said that as long as the image represents the subject, names are not necessary.

If you guys could please specify that part of the rule, it'll be great. Because it's not really the little time taken to edit the code banners that frustrate people, to me it's really because a lot of my codes are made 1 or 2 years ago, and I can't exactly find the matching font/color/shade anymore to edit the code.

Questions for the Senior Staff / category suggestion
« on: May 01, 2005, 04:57:08 PM »
I posted a message regarding fanlistings for individual artbooks earlier in the general forum, the I found that the answer is no...

I'm just asking for the senior staff to take in consideration of approving individual artbooks and artbooks of fanlistings. Because it's a very broad subject matter, and I'm sure a lot of people are fans of different individual artbooks. I mean, we have "songs" and "music of" fanlistings, to me, having artbook fanlistings make more sense than having anime music fanlistings, after all, artbooks are strictly anime/manga related while songs can be in the categories of tfl.org.

If this subject had been brought up before or if tafl.org has some technical difficulties regarding this subject, please accept my apologies, ^^

Hi there, ^^;;; I did something really troublesome. I remember receiving the 250 members award for my Death Note Series fanlisting, but I lost that e-mail, along with the banner. ^^;;;;; So is there any way I can get another one....? Do I need to get anything...?

Again, I'm sorry for all the trouble, :flower:;;

General / Shonen Jump a company?
« on: February 07, 2005, 02:58:51 PM »
Hmm... one of my friends who can read Japanese visited the weekly jump website, and according to her, the jump comics or shonen jump all belong to shuueisha, it didn't mention anything about a division company or anything, =]

[quote name='Meiran' date='Feb 4 2005, 11:36 PM']No trouble!  Like I said, I'm new so I appreciate the help understanding SJ.  What the question comes down to is if they can be considered their own publisher.  In the United States, SJ manga are published seperate from the Viz label.  Is it the same in Japan?

I don't think so, it might belong to a family of the Jump magazine, that might be an independent company (not sure), but ultimately, SJ belongs to Shuueisha.

from my knowledge, shonen jump (in japan, the weekly jump) belongs to a larger family of Jump magazines that are owned by Shuueisha, and in U.S. it is licensed to Viz, but maybe it's an independent company?

I'm not trying to start a drama, ^^;; I just saw on the update page that Shonen Jump is approved in the companies category, I'm just curious to know actually, what kind of company is Shonen Jump? is it like a magazine company that produces different Jump-related magazines...?

Thanks for answering, ^^
