Questions for the Senior Staff / Permanent trouble checkers
« on: June 13, 2006, 03:59:47 PM »
The people who are currently trouble checkers for our network are permanent trouble checkers.  It simply means that they regularly trouble check for a specific catagory(ies).

Questions for the Senior Staff / "Rules" to join a FL
« on: May 16, 2006, 04:28:47 PM »
Yes, a fanlisting is breaking a rule if it requires any information other than name, email address, and country (such as a code word).  You can send in a report form if you think a fanlisting is breaking that rule and just mention in the comments section the specific problem so the staffer will be sure to know what to look for.

While we understand that sometimes Game fanlistings can stumble over into Anime and Manga (and be crosslisted at both networks), we are the ANIME and MANGA Fanlisting Network.

No one should be posting about approvals, rejections, etc. at this network for a subject like games, which are part of The Fanlistings Network, unless that fanlisting is also crosslisted at our network.

From this point on, posts or threads that deal solely with fanlistings only listed at TFL (unless they are fanlistings for webmasters that are active at our network) will be closed or deleted.

Questions for the Senior Staff / Application Rejections
« on: March 23, 2006, 07:06:19 PM »
A lot of factors are taken into account when staffers select an owner for a fanlisting.

The following is taken from our FAQs:
Quote
We judge the applications on many different factors, such as the person's html skills, level of fanness (judged by comments etc.), number of fanlistings on upcoming, number of fanlistings in the fandom, etc. The list goes on, and each staffer weighs these factors differently. There is no specific, uniform formula on who gets selected, but every staffer makes the choices he or she believes is best.

So no, you would not automatically be rejected just for owning more than a few fanlistings.

Items/Locations / LOCATIONS RULES
« on: September 11, 2005, 05:01:11 PM »
[quote name='Annie' date='Sep 11 2005, 03:09 PM']Well, just my opinion, but from that explanation above, shouldn't the past be approvable and the future unapprovable? Because you're saying that the past is whats already happened, so we know what it's like and may be a fan of it, but if it's in the future and we have no idea what it's like... you get what I'm saying? hehe, Well anyway, like Loki said, that would rule out a few fanlistings I would have wanted to see and join. Guess I'll wait for the final word  :bounce:

I believe Lexa meant that the past would be usually based on a real place (or time period) because it happened already and is then based on that, but normally future locations in series are not based on a pre-existing place because they're happening in a new and unknown time.  Obviously, if a future place in a series is approved you can be a fan of it because it exists in the series and thus you know it - it just isn't know in a realistic 'can overlap with already existing real world places' way.

(Lexa, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's what you were getting at? :D)
