I was wondering if anyone else plays any online trading card games?  I used to play a bunch then most closed/I lost time/interest.  I decided I wanted to start playing a few again (because the games on them are so fun).

I am only playing Moonlight Legend atm.  May add a few more at some future date (I am anxious for the Whoverse one to come off hiatus).

Small Addictions is my online tcg site.  If anyone joins moonlight legend after reading this thread, say Rosemary referred you. :dance:

News and Announcements / Staff Volunteer and Trouble Checker Drive!

It's time for TAFL to have its third annual Staff Volunteer Drive! We're always on the lookout for dedicated people who are interested in helping out the network! In addition to category staff volunteers, we are also looking for more trouble checker volunteers.

If you're interested in volunteering to be a trouble checker and/or a category staffer please fill out the appropriate forms found here. Be sure you read all of the requirements and fully complete the form before submitting it. Just remember as fun as staffing and trouble checking can be, they are very time-consuming jobs and we only want the best!

N.B. If you have submitted a staff application in the past and wish to submit an updated application, please be sure to write the word, 'UPDATE' after you name.

I realized we don't have one of these yet and since the last few years I've been lucky enough to go to some awesome concerts I felt a need to make one! XD

So, anyone going to see any concerts this year?

In March I'm going to see Daughtry!  I saw him open for Bon Jovi when they performed at the Prudential Center a few years ago and am thrilled to see a full concert with them (I just adore Chris).  I was able to score second row seats in the lower level right in one of the center sections (I'm not a fan of floor seats since you can't really see unless you're right in front).  I'm hoping to score VIP package upgrades when they go on sale soon.

In May I'm going to see Bon Jovi!  YAY!  For this concert I have third row seats in the lower level but the seats are a bit off to the side (still really good!).  I wish Bon Jovi vip packages were cheaper (or I had a better paying job, lol).  Bon Jovi are one of the few bands I'd pay a ton to see up close and personal, but the packages are SO expensive it shall never happen.

That is one of the hardest parts of an application staffer's job.  Trust me when I say that no staffer enjoys having to send out rejections.  There have been many times over the years I and all the other staffers have wished we could approve more than one person for certain fanlistings.

Since the original What Are You Reading thread has almost exclusively manga, I thought I'd create a new thread with a focus on literature (I know I can't be the only one who reads actual books here :hug:).

Someone bought me Poppy Z. Brite's Lost Souls.  I'm in the midst of reading it.  I have had this author recommended to me numerous times, but never had the chance to read her before this.  This book is both interesting and disturbing all at once.  I'm not sure if want to seek out more of her full length novels or give some of her short story collections a try first, but I am sure I will be reading more by her.

Owning it kind of takes the mystery away so there isn't anything about TAFL I have a question about, lol.  Something that has always boggled my mind: Why do people sometimes adopt out 'wishlist' fanlistings (especially if they haven't had them very long)?

It breaks my heart every time a staffer has to leave staff. :pirate:  Also, it makes me proud that I've been staffing/involved with anime/manga categories since before TAFL existed.  We don't have too many staffers left who can say that! (Though saying that does make me feel kind of old, haha)
