Questions for the Senior Staff / Question

Hello lovelies! 
While reading the current "hot" thread, someone made up the point of staff communication... and I was wondering; are we allowed to (nicely) ask the application staffer of the categories why we were rejected? I personally think that this benefit us, as owners, so we can learn where our weaknesses lie, in the application process; and to overall help us create and write better applications.
I don't ask this as a way to badger the staff or anything, but I was just wondering.

But since then I've decided against it, and will deem it as the second worst decision I've made on the web. I recreated an account, and was wondering if I could know if you applications were indeed purged from the database, so now I can reapply if need be.
