What if instead of having two separate lists, you made one list with an extra field asking if the person likes the rivalry or the positive relationships better? That's allowed for TAFL  listings, and I've seen a lot of people do it with TFL listings for relationships where the people joining may prefer one over the other, specially with rels/rils that were merged after the rule change.

Taken from the application form on the Relationships page:

Quote
Crosslisting between the Rivalries and Relationships category is not allowed. The same rivalry fanlisting may be approved under Relationships, but only in the condition that it will be treated as a separate fanlisting; potential members must be able to choose whether or not they will join the rivalry or relationship (platonic/romantic) fanlisting.

This would go for everything, not just Relationship & Rivalry fanlistings :flower:  There is more than one Kingdom Hearts fanlisting in the Rels. category that I've sent e-mails to about this as they have crosslisted with games at TFL.

You can have fanlistings for similar subjects at the same website (Angela does a wonderful job of it here, hopefully she won't mind me using it as a refrence <3), but you need to treat it as two seperate fanlistings, meaning seperate join forms, seperate members lists, etc...

I know in the past there are have been fanlistings that just use one members list and give members a choice of which to join but I've never seen it done correctly, as there really shouldn't be a 'fan of both' option.  Members should join twice if they're a fan of two things.  The fanlistings that are already like this aren't forced to change, but new ones really should be made the correct way.  Hopefully that helps :)

Thank you both for your replies!
As soon as I've finished my upcoming fanlisting, I'll be applying for the subject at both ends. I'll also be using two seperate join/members forms for the two. Thanks! :flower:

Is it okay to plug non TAFL fanlistings on these boards instead of TFL's? It feels like no one at TFL ever knows what I'm talking about when I plug them there. :D

A few people comment on my J-pop fanlistings there, but I made a relationship fanlisting from the live action movie NANA (since someone already owns the TAFL one) and I don't think most people over there have even heard of NANA.

From the Board Guidelines:

Quote
2) Individual posts solely promoting non-TAFL fanlistings are inappropriate and will be deleted (with possible warning of posters if it becomes a blatant disregard to the rule). If you are promoting all your fanlistings in one post which individually lists all your fanlistings (including non-TAFL fanlistings), that is allowed.

So no, it's not allowed. Sorry about that.  :D

You know what you could do, though, is link to them in your board signature.  :D  I mean, don't go overboard, but you could list them as your most recently opened or updated.

(But seriously, don't go overboard with it! XD)

Ahh, good idea! & well, at least a few people on the TFL boards recognized it, so I'm happy now. :D

Hi,

On 14th of June the SEED Stargazer ONA will be released (more info).

I was wondering where one would have to apply for an Original Net Anime (ONA) such as Stargazer? My opinion leans toward the Series category myself, because it has 3 episodes. I'm not entirely sure though. :hyper:

*TOTALLY NOT TEMPTED BY THE AWESOME PROMO* :/

Hello,

I am wondering if it is okay for me to join the fanlisting that I am creating? I added myself for testing purposes, but do I now delete myself or do I stay on there?

Thanks...

It would make sense to join the fanlisting your fan of, either be owned or from someone else :/.
in my personal opinion, if you own a fanlisting that mean you're a fan of the subject so, you have to join it  :hyper:

*Agrees with Mitz* I never understood people not joining their own fanlistings  :hyper:

It really is your decision, but why wouldn't you join? You're creating it because you love the subject after all  :hyper:  :/

It never occured to me that it was a problem (in fact I always thought it was natural); I'm a member of all the fanlistings I own. :/

I actually find it very off-putting when I go to visit a brand new fanlisting, and I see "0 members". Generally my line of thinking is that the owner can't be that big a fan if they don't join themselves... until now it never occurred to me that some people thought you weren't supposed to.  :/

Ditto what Mura says; I am always puzzled by seeing a 0 members fanlisting.. I am the first, proud, fan of all my own owned fanlistings! :P
