Questions for the Senior Staff / Board E-mail Change Request
« on: February 02, 2014, 05:21:11 PM »

Hi everyone!

I tried logging in under my username, but it wouldn't let me in with the password I supplied. Meaning I have another password on file. I then went and requested my lost password. I made sure to type in my e-mail address, rather than my username, being as there may be an old e-mail in use here on the boards. I was right. The boards don't recognize my current e-mail. Is there any way you can change the e-mail on file for me? Once it's changed, I will request my lost password. :)

My info:

Username: Christina

E-mail: misssolitude AT gmail DOT com (this is my current e-mail; I don't know what e-mail is on file on the boards)

Technical Support / Gmail Not Receiving TAFL Emails
« on: November 09, 2013, 06:02:22 PM »
Hello TAFL staff! This is Vickie. I have requested to change my email address at the board from a non-gmail account to gmail but have not received the revalidation email. I have waited patiently, checked both my new and old email accounts including spam folders, tried resending the request twice, etc. I have also tested the \"Your FL List\" form but also didn't get the email. I received the password reset email on my non-gmail account prior to requesting the change without any issues.

Could the staff please help investigate the issue? Thank you!

Posting as Anonymous because I couldn't start a new topic without validating my new email.

Technical Support / Not getting emails from board
« on: December 06, 2007, 01:56:48 PM »
I tried and tried to access my password for my email on Takako (username) but I am not getting anything at all, not even in spam. So I thought I'd make a new username Eifia with a different email and I'm STILL don't getting any emails there. I cannot log in which is why I am using "Anonymous".

Could someone please activate Eifia for me? I don't have any alternative emails besides gmail and I always thought it was the best but it's starting to fail me. When I was signing up it didn't let me use gmail so I was doubfounded. I finally reset my internet connection 4 times before the register page let me use a gmail address.

Can a board moderator or something please activate my Eifia account? I'd be grateful as I cannot do it without the emails I am not getting. ;__;

The email for the board account is foreveryou.org@gmail.com because I couldn't use my current one which Takako was associated with...

Any help is appreciated ;_;

Questions for the Senior Staff / 3-Strikes Rule
« on: October 08, 2007, 07:57:03 PM »
Hello! I wanted to point out a concern that was brought up at the Questions for the Senior Staff thread at the TFL boards. If it's not too much trouble, could you please visit the topic and read the question and response?

I have the same problem with my domain - and thus, my fanlistings - as that anonymous poster does (we're not the same person, if that matters at all). I was wondering if here at AFL, you will only remove a fanlisting after three strikes if the troubles reason was inactivity. If you do indeed remove fanlistings for being troubled three times due to a dead link, is there any chance that you would reconsider this rule?

Any feedback would be most appreciated! Thank you so much for your time. :)

Questions for the Senior Staff / Problem with my account
« on: August 24, 2007, 07:50:18 AM »
Hello,

I'm very sorry but due to some computer problems, I lost my password to log in my account to the board (Argh, the computer had memorized it but not me ;_>.<
The problem is I can't retrieve it since my email on the board is not active anymore.

My board username is Nany^
I'm sorry for the trouble, but could you please email me ( nanycouicheu @ gmail.com ) my password ?

I wouldn't have bothered you with this if I wasn't in the process of adopting my fanlistings.. I need to respond to my adoption thread before tomorrow

Again, sorry for the trouble, and thanks so much for your time

Question number 1.

One of my fanlists was placed in the troubles because it was a combined fanlisting for more than one characters without any option of choosing who/which are your favourites. I'm trying to code a system that lets you choose your favorites but what would be most easy thing is to remove the single character names from TAFL's approved fl's list and list the fanlist under the name of the group in which these characters are.  Here's an example from TFL:

Quote
21 Jump Street
Hanson, Tom
Penhall, Doug
  • Jump Street Gang
That
  • thing is the one I'm after. I haven't seen any groups listed like this at TAFL. The second way to get my list out of troubles would be transferring the list into the category "Relationships", though it won't fit there so well, IMHO. (Though it's a relationship of somekind...)
Question number 2.

I have noticed the huge growth in the popularity of yaoi. "In the good ol' times" I joined fanlisting in the category Relationships just to show my support of two male character's friendship but now I've become a bit suspicious. Feels like most of the male/male relationship fanlistings are made for the yaoi relationship of those two, though "... if you like them as friends or as a couple..." is always mentioned in the rules/about of the fanlisting (as well in the rules/about of any male/female relationship fanlistings too).

So, Rivalries category has only rivalries listed in it but Relationships have friendships AND couples/threesomes/whatever. It would be great if friendship listings could be  listed in their own category and couples in their ow because it feels little crazy that the fanlist's owner is (for example) a yaoi fangirl, 99 % of the members are yaoi fangirls and there's this 1 % who joined the list to support the friendship, not the yaoi couple. To the majority those fanlistings still look like "oh wow, look how many fans SasuNaru has!", though there might be few fans of their friendship in the list too, unwillingly raising the number of SasuNaruists.

I have a female/male fanlisting of my own, and I made it thinking that it would be a fanlisting for their romantic relationship. I know that some people may not support their romantic relationship but would like to support their frienship or them being colleagues. This is impossible now. I wouldn't mind if someone would make a friendship fanlisting of those two characters because my listing is (though I accept all fans and continue to do so) for their romantic relationship.

Summary: different categories for non-romantic and romantic relationships?

Technical Support / RSS Feed part 2
« on: February 26, 2007, 02:45:30 AM »
Danielle,

It seems that it doesn't work:
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/tafl/

as compared to the tafl
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/tfl_updates/

When I checked the feed (http://www.animefanlistings.org/updates/feed/), it's still the excerpts that are being fed into the rss.

Hope it's not a bother ^^;

Questions for the Senior Staff / Live Action and Anime
« on: February 13, 2007, 09:57:54 PM »
I was wondering is it possible to apply for a series fanlisting with the Live Action fanlisting? I mean if you have the Live Action fanlisting listed at TFL and would like to have the series fanlisting here too, could we crosslist that? Or do we have to apply and then build another fanlisting for it? Or if ever we're approved, do we have to keep separate member list?

Questions for the Senior Staff / Category staff applications
« on: January 23, 2007, 09:57:29 PM »
From the recent update by the network, the TC volunteer database was purged. I was wondering if this is going to happen to the category staff pool as well. I've noticed some of the new staffers are from a newer applicant pool. Perhaps this is actually a question of whether older applications are even being considered at this point.

Questions for the Senior Staff / Suggestion: New Category
« on: September 17, 2006, 09:58:20 PM »
Hi! I have a suggestion for a new category in TAFL. Since many anime uses different kinds of techniques, I was wondering about a new category called "Techniques". I know many people who are fans of, for example:

- Goku's Kamehameha
- Naruto's Summoning Technique
- Inuyasha's Exorcising Claws of Steel

... and much more.

Some of these techniques aren't even used by an item, but alone by the characters. I mean if there's a category for items, wouldn't it be fair to have a category for techniques?  :/  It's just a suggestion and I hope you'll take it into consideration.    Thanks!  :D

Questions for the Senior Staff / Application Rejections
« on: March 23, 2006, 03:58:27 PM »
I was told by some FL owners from both AFL & TFL networks that if a person has more than a handful of fanlistings application staffers autmotaically pass them over in favor of those who may run one or none. Is that true? Is the number of fanlistings we already run held against us?

Questions for the Senior Staff / A few questions..
« on: January 22, 2005, 05:00:28 PM »
1. How do I let you guys know that my email address has changed?
2. For the Rules section of a fanlisting: is it required for all members to have a valid e-mail address?

I'm sorry if I'm blind and the answers were on the TAFL site all along :x"
