Title: TV TV TV!
Post by: Jackie on July 18, 2009, 12:28:47 AM
TV shows!  What series are you into right now?  What series are you interested in watching?

I became obsessed with House a year ago, and I just into NCIS a few months ago.  Both are my current TV passions, but they're on break until fall.  I'm sure plenty of people have heard of House thanks to the title character - it's a medical drama.  NCIS seems to be relatively unknown in fandom world, despite its stellar American viewership numbers.  It stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service.  It's a procedural criminal investigation drama, but it's also usually funny and very character-driven.

I'm waiting for the return of Psych to get me through the summer, and I'm currently watching Leverage and Warehouse 13.  I'm interested in sitting down to watch Royal Pains, but I haven't quite done so yet.  I have a whole slew of TV series I need to watch, too~

Oh man, I am such a loser, I never watch TV. The only thing I watch is Burn Notice on USA, because my husband watches is RELIGIOUSLY.

It's actually a really good show! Jackie, weren't you asking about it a while back? Did you ever check it out?

Ditto this! :P I can't wait for Psych to come back, especially after such a great season.

I'm also not so patiently waiting for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia to start up again in September, because it's seriously the best show on TV since Arrested Development. So funny and so very quotable. Also, in November there is new season of Venture Brothers and omfg, best show. I need this show to come back stat.

Actually I'm addictive to How I met your mother (It's so hilarious) but I watched also all the CSI and Doct. House that arrived her in Italy! XD But most of the tv shows that I watch are comedy!

I am currently watching:

NCIS: one of the best shows ever. I love all the characters (which is quite rare), especially Ziva and Abby (and the relationship between Ziva and Tony, which is so amusing). I'm not too much into this kind of shows, but how can you resist the great mix of irony and crime/investigation?

Leverage: I'm growing fod of this show as well. The idea is original and the characters aren't bad at all.

Eleventh Hour: I love so much the two main (and actually only in someway) characters.  I still have to understand if this show is the remake of something else or if it's original, but it's quite interesting.

I still have to try Fringe (it gives me X-Files vibes), Chuck and Supernatural

Just a few months back, I hardly watched any TV at all, but lately I've been following quite a few series XD I mostly watch stuff that involves crime scenes and such, like Numb3rs, Eleventh Hour, and I recently started watching BONES. When I get the chance, I also like to watch NCIS  and Criminal Minds ^^

I'm so in love with How I met your mother right now :) because I love Ted (and Barney 8D) It's rare for me to love a TV show like that because I usually drop them after some months ^^; (it happened with Ugly Betty, and Grey's Anatomy... HIMYM rules xD) Anyway I really enjoy Desperate Housewives and House M.D too ~!

I don't watch series on a daily basis but I follow quite a bit of House, even if I'm sometimes confused on which season I'm watching lol; (gotta blame  AXN/Universal and their schedules I guess), Lost and Heroes.
I was an avid watcher of Rome and The Tudors as well 8D alas, I'm still missing Rome final season but I got The Tudors complete set *happy* so that kinda make up for Rome haha!

>_>  Also watched Korean soaps XD but they don't air those anymore *shrugs*

@Jackie Bones really is a show you just nééd to see. It's an amazing combination between humor, seriousness, action, sometimes thriller-ish, great characters that continue to develop along the way... it's just awesome<3

I don't really watch much television, but when I do I primarily enjoy crime shows (both fiction and true crime) and comedies. The shows I'm enjoying right now include CSI, Flight of the Conchords and The Chaser's War on Everything. I'm with Marie, November can't come soon enough - new Venture Bros., yay!

I'm waiting on Fall to return.  NCIS left such a cliff hanger (the only crime-related series I watch).  Also NHL hockey.  The Cup Finals were so epic this past year, and it really left me wanting more.

I don't particularly like David Boreanaz but he's a great actor (which is probably why I still love Angel so much), vastly underrated, IMHO. I haven't seen many episodes of Bones, but whenever I catch one, I always enjoy it!   You should check it out, Jackie!

Ooooh, a TV thread! YAY! =D So! Stuff I currently watch:

How I Met Your Mother, which I'm completely head over heels with. I love everyone in this series and its inside jokes, its crazy timeline and its lovely relationships. I miss it so much right now =( Can't wait for the next season, really.

Bones, which is so ridiculous and lol sometimes, it's endlessly endearing. Then there's actually good episodes. I don't know, I can't judge this series objectively, I've been watching it for too long. I love the whole team (Booth! Hodgins! Cam! Sweets!) and how much they love each other. There is an AU episode for god's sakes! What's not to love?

The Office US, which I blame Steve Carell (and Michael Scott) for. I can't resist the man. I'm a big fan of the original British series and this one... well, I'm really happy it found its own identity and it's completely different now, but I'm not that big on it. It's got some really genius moments though. However, this last season (the 5th) has been my favourite by far. Michael is an actual person and not a clown! Character development! Michael/Holly! The Michael Scott Paper Company! Michael & Pam! Seriously, I loved it lots. Here's hoping next season will be as good (not likely).

Fringe, which sometimes I wonder why I'm watching, lol. I don't know, I laugh lots and Joshua Jackson is hot. For such an "out there" series it's hilariously predictable xD;

And then I have some on hold. 30 Rock (which I really like, but the latest season was getting on my nerves), Medium (which I haven't had time to finish yet) and Californication (in the middle of season 2). That's pretty much it! I've dropped so many series in the last 2 years~

I don't really watch a lot of tv, mostly I watch reruns of That '70s Show and Malcolm in the Middle. But I have started to watch, The Listener and I really love this show a lot. Not only is the main character hot, it's got a really good plot that gets you hooked. xD

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia S5? Brilliantly hilarious. I have now decided to study bird law and anyone not watching this show clearly doesn't know how to put the baby in the house. Also, Supernatural S5 is shaping up to be epicly epic, woah.

Missed The Office and House, though. :birthday: *ducks from Estee and Jackieness respectively*

I actually watch a lot of TV shows... Plus, I love Friends, too. :x It was hilarious, in my opinion! :D

Oh god this is just screaming at me to start singing the praises for Doctor Who :heart: Maybe I'm just a crazy British fangirl, but seriously, it's one of the only tv dramas that I love all the way through, will watch religiously and I'm very selective about what I watch on tv anyway :)  I am currently tearing my hair out over the looming exit of David Tennant and the fact the BBC are still being so elusive as to when the next special will be aired beyond saying 'November-ish'. Ahhhhhh. It's almost October. ;;

Also, I miss Pushing Daisies. :x I still need to finish watching the last couple of episodes for it, actually...

In the meantime I'm amusing myself with Merlin on Saturday nights at the moment after the pilot of season 2 this week, but it's a case of I'll watch it beause it's there.

Oh, I used to like the new Doctor Who, but after the FAIL that was the series 3 finale (lol Tinker Bell Jesus Doctor) and a combination of me hating Donna's face and Ten's never-ending douchery, I don't really care anymore. Of course I'll be watching the remaining specials because DUH JOHN SIMM, but I'm not expecting much =/

Now, the new Sarah Jane Adventures series I'm looking forward to. The one Who related show I still enjoy! It's a shame the douche will be in it but LUKE ❤

And so I've watched already the premieres for The Office US (meh! The teaser was good tho), Fringe (omg this was actually nice), Bones (poor poor Booth) and OMFG HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, which was everything I wanted it to be, and more

Also FlashForward, which was painfully horrid. I LOL'd like crazy, but I don't think the lulz are worth watching more of it xD;

Really? Donna's actually a lot better than I thought she would be once I gave her the chance (and once she was fleshed out - since in the Runaway Bride she was destinied as a one-off, all she did was shout all the time). As for season 3 I think it's been the weakest season overall. Well, except the last couple of episodes, but the rest of it is largely forgettable.

Oh, as for John Simm (amazing man), there's rumours floating about that he might be in Ashes to Ashes next year, now I think about it.

Actually, season 3 is my favourite (then goes season 1). I believe the scripts are honestly awesome (Smith & Jones! Gridlock! The Lazarus Experiment! Human Nature! 42! Blink! Utopia!) and it's got my favourite companion (Martha) and my favourite character overall (the Master). I just thought it had a crappy ending (Last of the Time Lords was ridiculously stupid) even if FOR ONCE the Daleks weren't the baddies =/

I hated season 4 with a passion, the only episode I enjoyed was Midnight really. I may have hated it more than season 2 (and that's saying a lot!). The last special was just meh, although I liked Michelle Ryan in it (even though Ten was a douche to her, of course).

Well, last thing I heard Phil Glenister said they didn't need him so I took that as "lol he didn't want to be in it so we're making excuses". I'll be extremely happy if that's the case, I haven't even bothered watching A2A because I think the concept is lame and I'm not interested in anything Sam-less. Also, I think they're traitors for basically continuing the series without him =P Besides, I think they're shooting it now and he's doing theatre until December, so here's hoping he can't do it even if he wanted to~

Soooo after I finished Freaks and Geeks (which got better towards the end), I started watching Undeclared, another cancelled Apatow production. AW SETH ROGEN ❤

Season premiere of Law & Order SVU. I felt so bad for Elliot at the end though, he was utterly devastated. And of course that SPOILER(?): poor innocent man who won't be getting out of prison now. :( Sigh.

That was on at the same time as the series premiere of Modern Family, so I could only watch during commercial breaks. lol. From what I saw it was quite funny! I couldn't help but laugh when the one set of parents were scheduling a time for their son to be shot (by a pellet gun if you're wondering/worried).

Looking forward to tonight's The Office as well as the series premiere of FlashForward. :]

A2A is actually surprisingly good; the finales are really, really strong; also Sam's been mentioned a lot more lately, since in season 1 they mentioned him once and season 2 they brought him up a few times, mostly for Gene to deal with a few ghosts, but they seemed much more open to it.

But see? That's another issue for me. I don't want them to mention Sam. At all. His story is Life on Mars and it's finished and there's nothing more to it. I don't want to watch an add-on that tells me what happened afterwards is now different that what LoM told me. It's ridiculous and it angers me that they kept on going because they thought they could probably make more money. I think John Simm did the right thing leaving because LoM is perfect from start to finish, and he'd do the right thing not coming back (I actually wish he wouldn't come back to DW either, but what can you do).

I didn't even liked Gene as much as the rest of people do, so I've got no reasons to watch A2A. I don't think John Simm is watching either lol.

Also, I'm totally with Estee on How I met your Mother - I started watching it not too long ago and I'm almost all caught-up now, fweeh! I don't think there are enough hearts in the world to express just how ;fjsfk amazing this show is. Love all of the characters (and their relationships) a ridiculous amount, but ;fhsjf I'm so totally gone for Barney (or NPH in general, ehh ♥♥) and I can't stop quoting him er. Seriously- funniest thing ever. :strong:

(Also, have found a strange liking for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as well - despite all of them being such jerks, I can't stop watching >>; )

Just finished watching Undeclared which I ended up enjoying way more than Freaks & Geeks and jks;kjsdfh SETH ROGEN ❤ I'm now busy with the last few episodes of Bosom Buddies~ THIS IS GENIUS AND I DARE ANYONE TO TELL ME OTHERWISE LMAO.

Other than that, I'm up-to-date with all my series. The Medium season premiere was brilliant! JOEEEEEE~

God I loved yesterday's episode of HIMYM ❤ Awww Barney~

And apart from finishing up Bosom Buddies, I'm also rewatching all of Futurama at the moment. Because it's the best animated series ever (you know it!) and I felt like it =9 New episodes next Summer jksf;jkhdsf IT'S LIKE THERE'S A PARTY IN MY MOUTH AND EVERYONE'S THROWING UP.

Thanks to my Dad I am very much into Castle now. A show about a witty writer who follows a cop around and writes a book based on her life. Really good series. I'm also very much into watching House but I don't get to watch it much because Dad doesn't let anyone touch the TV. So I only really get to watch anything when he's there.

For some reason I've started watching Knight Rider when my mum's sat watching it, even though I've not seen the first or second episodes. I'm not even sure why I'm watching it, since it seems more of a guy-ish thing, but eh, I like the car, he makes me laugh :flower:

The new The Sarah Jane Adventures series just started airing, so I'm watching that. It may be a kids show, but I find it much more entertaining (and less annoying) than any of its two big brothers. Well, I didn't even bother watching Torchwood this year lol.

Also watching Band of Brothers at last. Enjoying it so far~

I'm good at reviving threads or something lolz;

Anyway, I'm still following Dr. House and SVU. I had to let go of Heroes after I didn't understand it anymore >>; skipped almost half a season and that's bad when trying to follow Heroes xD;;;. But now, I'm quite religiously following Supernatural, V (the new series), The Good Wife, Nurse Jackie and True Blood S3 (which is doing great right now~)

Well, before Summer I had been following my usual shows: Fringe (best show I'm watching right now), Bones, Medium and The Office US. I dropped How I Met Your Mother for a bit after the first episodes of season 5, but I picked it up again recently. The first 15 episodes or so were quite awful, but thankfully it got better towards the end (it feels like the series I love again). I also started watching Community, which I've enjoyed greatly.

Brit TV wise, the latest Outnumbered series was great as usual and season 5 of Doctor Who managed to recover my love for the show (Team Eleven!). Now I'm watching the new The IT Crowd series, but I'm feeling like this show should have ended already D:

As for Summer, I'm watching the new Futurama episodes (OMGYAYOMG!!!1) and The Good Guys, mainly because it's fun and Colin Hanks is hot.

Well i have a thing for NCIS, I did a marathon not long time ago, then because sometimes even on Slovenian TV there are decent shows I watch HOUSE MD, and I'll probably be watching GLEE when it comes on the tv. And I finished watching Numb3rs, but I like only first 3 seasons, the other seasons aren't really something. I sometimes manage to catch Ghost whisperer, but actually stopped watching it after the third or forth series because things got really cliché.

Then I have in plan watching Supernatural, Fringe and other stuff that I got suggestions in the LJ pool.

Summer is a really bland period of TV for me, except that I've been religiously following the World Cup which I kinda want to start a thread for, hmm. I need to check out the new Futurama episodes, but other than that, I'm pretty much just watching reruns = I think Justified was probably the most interesting thing I followed recently.

I'm mostly waiting for the Fall shows. I've basically started counting down to September 24th and Supernatural. Plus, Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Venture Brothers are returning (finally) and I'm hoping beyond hope that The League got picked up for a second season. :cookie:

The two shows that I was watching this year ended, so I'm going through a rewatch of one of them from start to finish - well, it's prior series and then the respective sequel, I guess :birthday:. So I'm currently watching Life on Mars (UK) and when that's done, back to Ashes to Ashes! ... in which I will cry all over again when it ends. I miss it. :magic:

I love that summer is a little boring in terms of programming, because I'm a lot little lazy as it is, and summer just makes that ten times worse for me. :magic: I have been following the return of Futurama (I think I died, went to some Tess-centred heaven, came back alive and then died again when I heard it was coming back!), and (the return of) Leverage, Neighbors From Hell and The Whitest Kids U'Know. /is lame

I've recently re-watched Supernatural from season 1 to 4 (not finished though), and I'm still thrilled like the first time. I can't wait to see the 5th season (which is still upcoming in my country). I honestly can't have enough of Dean and Castiel  .
I'm also eagerly waiting for the newest season of NCIS (which is so addicting) and The Vampire Diaries, speaking of which is amazing how I came to love characters I was initially not liking at all.

I've been watching TV shows lately! I recently finished Bones 2 and Burn Notice 2, which were great. Right now I'm following NCIS season 6, I think that's pretty much the only show that will entertain me for the moment. :D also, i'll watch the last episode of FlashForward tomorrow.

Doctor Who. I just wish more people would get into it. It's just the most phenomenal sci-fi/drama I've ever seen. I was late to hop on the DW bandwagon so I started from the Eleventh doctor then after that ended (spectacular series finale btw!), I went back and watched the rest of the shows from the Ninth doctor and up. I'm also watching Torchwood. Although I don't watch TV, I do catch these on the internet.

Wish I had more people to talk to about these shows. XD I know I fangirl with Espo a lot.

Not so much a show, per say, but my parents are avidly watching the Tour de France. And I keep finding myself being drawn into watching it too, since it's hard not to admire these men in their pursuits (and, there is an amazing UK-sprinter, who keeps winning lots of stages, ahahaha).

What else is there to be than a Doctor Who fangirl Whovian!?

And I completely concur. There's enough to watch (since it was originally made in the 60's or so and then they revived it in 2005, so a good solid five series plus specials), and enough of a following for it. :D

I love SVU. \o/
and generally anything on the channels Nat Geo, Nat Geo Wild, History, Animal Planet, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. 8D

and, uh, my sister got me into Jersey Shore ages ago. I don't particularly like the people, but I find their behaviour absolutely hilarious. ^^

Yay, Leverage is back! New episodes of In Plain Sight, as well and my favorite guilty pleasure The World According to Paris so I am sitting pretty when it comes to TV. My tastes are simply, very simple, LOL.

Ugh, but at this point it would take a miracle to make me watch The Vampire Diaries when it returns in the fall. Elena makes me throw up in my mouth. Which is a bummer because I like so much else about the show but Nina Dobrev's bland reacting ... ugh.

I'm so glad that Pretty Little Liars is back on the air!  :bounce: It was hell just waiting for the second season! It's completely different than the books (it's taking bits and pieces from it but is otherwise new and unique!) so even though I read them all, this show still keeps me on the edge of my seat.  :mwhaha:

Not really watching anything else since most of what I watched is either over or had been cancelled.
