I have served as a staffer, manager and network owner (in order, heh) at TFL/TAFL since April 2003. Were I to continue here until next April, that'd be five years! After over a year's difficult decision-making and preparation, I have decided to leave TAFL at the New Year.
I will officially retire as network owner on December 31, 2007.
Rosemary will replace me as network owner as of January 1, 2008.
I have chosen Rosemary as my replacement because she and I are very like-minded, and I know she has the energy and time to devote to TAFL that I currently lack. She has been with us since the inception of the network and I have every confidence in her ability to lead TAFL for many years to come.
I realize that for many of you, my leaving will come as a shock; I assure you, it's just as strange to write this as I imagine it will be to read. I know that, again, for many of you, I've come to represent TAFL in a way that will be hard to change or replace. All I can say in reassurance is that I will NOT be leaving the forums -- I plan to putter around happily in the Alumni forum and the public forums (although I admit I will be taking leave of the site for the first several weeks of 2008. There's an adjustment period for me too. ^^;; )
I wanted to announce this with plenty of time for people to read; the last thing I want is to give everyone a nasty, last-minute shock come Christmas. I'm also leaving this post open for comments and goodbyes, so you have plenty of time for those too. :x
TAFL has been an enormous blessing to me over the past 4+ years, and my life has been enriched by interacting with all of you. You represent my greatest group of online friends. I will miss this place and everyone in it, but I know it's time to go.

Aww~ I really can't find words to express it ^^; but I had to read 3 times the updates blog ( just logged after a multi-tasking work and first thing I read = surprise) anyway it's sad to see you go Danielle but it seems you gave it enough thinking :x so I just wish you good luck and plenty of good things now :)
I'm sure we will all miss you but this is also a good oportunity for you to change horizons like we say here ;P so if you're happy that's all that matters :)

OMG T_T D-mama, I clearly remember you from the first time I got here... I can't believe this is happening. But well, it's your decision, and we all have to respect it. :)
I wish you the best *quotes Mitzie* when finding new horizons! We will be waiting for you, and as for me, I'm gonna miss you a lot. :D And I'm sure everyone will.

Wow. I think it's a pretty safe bet to see that you'll be missed dearly. :) I'm also not the only once who's shocked. But I know that you know that we'll support you in whatever your decision is. :) Best of luck with whatever the future holds. :) And good look to Rose.

Oh no Korey, I'm sorry for the confusion. See, those board members commented *anonymously* and *I* supplied their identities after Jonathan traced their IP addresses and matched them with their board accounts. So yes, we're sure that's who did it. :)

:) I'm so sorry Danielle-sama. :hug: But I hope you realize that a lot of us that are sad to see you stepping down. I don't think any of us would have had the same TAFL experience without you being apart of it. :)

It also supports free speech. However, as it was your blog, you had every right to delete our comments; I'm surprised you bothered to find out who it was. That is my opinion and though this is not the place to discuss it (which is why I did not post in this topic) I am happy to explain why I feel that way elsewhere to anyone who is curious. There is a glaring difference between free speech and rudeness. You did not exercise free speech. You left a rude and unkind anonymous comment on someone's personal blog. I doubt very much anyone needs any kind of explanation from you; your actions speak loudly and clearly.
Danielle has given blood, sweat and tears to this network since it's inception. She deserves nothing but gratitude and respect.

You are so totally right Rose, and youre very welcome about the comments :) I hope you have a good year being the network owner for 2008 and the next few years :) and i hope that Danielle will give ya some tips too :hug: and Larissa, Danielle is the one who accepted you to be a TC so you should give her some respect

Polite, rude, or otherwise, I'm entitled to my opinions.
I would prefer my name not be brought up again in this thread - it is a thread of congratulations, and I won't begrudge either Danielle or Rosemary that. If you have anything to say to me, for good or ill, contact me about it privately.

It's really hard to leave something you've loved for so long, so I give you, Danielle, all the support in the world for your decision to leave TAFL. You have done a wonderful job building this network and turning it into a great place. Sad to see you go, and I wish you lots of luck in the future.
Rosemary ~ you know how wonderful you are! I have utter confidence you will do a fabulous job here as network owner. You have already done so much for this place, and I'm sure you will keep it great for years to come!

First of all, thanks for all your dedication and hard work in turning TAFL into what it is today, D-mama! :D I can't imagine the amount of work that went behind it, but I'm glad you took that initial step in separating anime/manga from TFL, thereby giving us anime/manga fans a loving, little community where we could thrive and feel at home :3 Although I'm not as active on the boards, I credit TAFL for introducing me to so many wonderful webmasters who I can call friends, who I would've never had the guts to talk to if it weren't for this community XD So thank you, and I wish you the best of luck with everything! ^^

Admiration is a word that I can use when I think about all you've done for TAFL, which continues to grow and grow. But starting out from the very beginning is a hard thing to do, and you've always been seen as the owner/leader of TAFL >:)
Thank you for making it what it is today! Good luck in whatever you choose to pursue, and I'm sure Rosemary will love and take care of it as you've done!
