Adoption Center / Adoptions - all going
« on: April 11, 2012, 04:45:40 PM »
Hi all, it's been a long time. Work and life (I got engaged!) and my new blog are now taking over and unfortunately that means it's time for me to finally let fanlistings go. I've owned these for a while and I do want them to go to good homes, so adoptions will go for as long as it takes me to find the right owner. If you're the previous owner, however, and want it back, just let me know and you have dibs.

Again, I'm really sad about this but I think it's the right thing to do to pass them on to someone who would enjoy them, much like I did. I'll miss everyone in the community, but I'm still around on other social networks for those that want to keep in touch.

For adoption:
Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury
Ah! Megami-sama (Oh! My Goddess)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

TFL adoptions (I hope these are fine to post here):
Mia Fey (Ace Attorney)
Edgar Roni Figaro (Final Fantasy VI)

There are a few adoptions that didn't end up being finished at the end of last year, so there may be more fanlistings to add to this list in the next couple of days.

Please send your applications to urbangeisha[at]gmail.com with Adoption: Subject. Include your Name, Email, example URL and a short reason why you want to adopt the FL.

Thanks and please don't resist!

Hi, I sent in an application and I just want to know if it's been received. Many thanks~ :)

I got it Aki.

I've decided on a few and I'm going to think about a couple a bit longer. I've updated the first post with what's been adopted. If you're interested, please send and application!

Slowly but surely, I'm finding less and less time in the day. It's sad, but I think the time has come to let go of a few fanlistings. They are probably going to all go at some point, but I need to do this slowly. NOT like ripping a band-aid.

I've owned a lot of these for years (some of them more than 5) and it still hurts to let go. However, I do think they could go to bigger fans and better homes.

Fanlistings:
Soul Eater - GONE
Fushigi Yuugi - GONE
Ah! Megami-sama (Oh! My Goddess)
Olivia Milla Armstrong (FMA) - GONE
Urahara Kisuke (Bleach) - GONE

I'm not in a rush, I am looking for the right homes for these, but it's better to apply sooner rather than later. Send an email to urbangeisha at gmail with "ADOPTION" and the fanlisting in the Subject and your Name, Email, URL, and reasons why you are a fan and why you would be a good owner. I'm going to be really picky as these have been with me for a long time. Thanks!
I've been reading a couple of books again, too - naturally finished Mockingjay right after it came out (and loved it, also naturally, though I still need to properly sit down sometime and order my thoughts on the whole trilogy.. ) Then I read Step on it, Cupid by Lorelei Mathias because I had it at home and hadn't read it yet (one of the better chick-lits out there~) and Goodbye Tsugumi by Banana Yoshimoto which I adored to bits.

This morning I also finished The Time Traveler's Wife which was amazing, as expected. <3 <3 Really enjoyed it. Neeext I'll be starting on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson just to find out what all the hype is about, heh. ^^v
I personally didn't get all the hype regarding the Steig Larsson books. They are good, but I've read better mystery/thrillers.

Mockingjay! And I also loved The Time Traveler's Wife.

Currently reading the first of The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, City of Bones. Entertaining, but not the best is probably my verdict.

I will completely agree with Rose. The Hunger Games books are amazing, and I'm really eagerly awaiting Mockingjay's release in August as well. Great characters, really interesting plot and actually good writing!

Can't help but agree with this! I just finished the first book and am about to order the 2nd one from amazon, haha. I loooove Peeta so much ;dhjsd gahh. :( But yeah, the books definitely are well written x3 Though I'm not sure if I'm not liking Battle Royale better, still.. will see what the 2nd part is like and then decide. x3

Apart from that, I've been reading tons of books lately @__@ Mostly stuff by Agatha Christie (Murder on the Orient Express, Hallowe'en Party), Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross, the first novel of The Sookie Stackhouse Chronicles Dead Until Dark (and now I want to start watching True Blood, haha) and PS: I love you by Cecelia Ahern, which was cute (though I didn't like the movie adaption at all).

... Yeahhh. I went MIA while spending the past 2-3 weeks only reading. >_> Next is Catching Fire, naturally  (Peeta~) and another one by Agatha Christie because I'm a geek. :x /hops off

OMG, yay for Peeta love!

Have a quick question. I looked at the form for submission, and there's no where to put attachments. Am I just blind, or do we send you a link of where we've uploaded the files maybe?

I am currently reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson.  It is really really good.  I am enjoying it so much I have already ordered the last two books in the trilogy (I am apparently into trilogies atm, lol).  I highly recommend this in addition to the above mentioned Hunger Games trilogy!

Next books I will be tackling on my to be read pile: The Maze Runner by James Dashner, Loups-Garous by Natsuhiko Kyogoku, and The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan. :cookie:
I will completely agree with Rose. The Hunger Games books are amazing, and I'm really eagerly awaiting Mockingjay's release in August as well. Great characters, really interesting plot and actually good writing!

Currently reading The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, my first foray into Russian Literature. Really intriguing and well written so far!

I play! I only play So Magical at the moment (a Disney-centric one). I used to play lots about a year ago, but just started up again last month. I loved Moonlight Legend when I used to play it, but I don't know if I have time for another TCG at the moment.

Of course if you all make one I will definitely join!
