I just saw a recent update on the blog and it has me going WTF?! I don't see anything about it in the rules and my mind is just drawing a blank on what it means. Would someone elaborate on it please?

The following fanlisting is being removed from the network and reopen for application because the character appears in less than 4 episodes and has yet to be “established”. Applications will be accepted and held for the next round of approvals. Thank you to those who brought this to my attention and apologies for any inconvience.

I'm not sure I follow the logic here. Maybe it's because I run a couple of fanlistings for characters that have appeared in four or less episodes so my brain isn't processing it. But why would you remove a character's fl because they have less than four episodes? Are my character fls going to be removed now too?

The particular character was removed because her only appearance has been at the end of one episode, in which she had a one-word line.  She has no personality as of yet, so a fanlisting for her should not have been approved.  Generally speaking, one episode/chapter is not long enough to get to know a recurring character, especially early on in a series or when a character is first introduced.  4 episodes is a general number and may not apply to all characters or to all series (for example, series that are very short or characters who appear only briefly).

Ah, okay that makes sense now. I was just concerned that there was now a limit of how long a character has to appear in the anime. But despite them only having a handful of episodes, they did get a lot of back story and or a chance to really understand them regardless.

Thanks for clarifying that Jackie. I didn't even recognize the character's name so I was even more clueless as to what was going on. :(
