Brand New Fanlistings! / Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion (OVA)

This is my first fanlisting for this year. I took a break because I was really burned out (and had to move across country TWICE). I don't know how active I'll be still, but I've finally settled down and was able to make a quick fanlisting for my favorite Puella Magi movie! I haven't loved a series this much since I watched Code Geass back in 2006. Anyway, please enjoy and join if you're a fan!

Off-Topic Chit-Chat / Sailor Moon 2013

According to Anime News Network and probably the entire internet going insane, there is going to be a reboot (this is a recent word that's popped up with remakes of shows/movies/etc) anime of Sailor Moon, which will follow closely with the manga. @MissDream replied on Twitter to @moonkitty:

@chibikim @moonkittynet Yes. The new anime will more closely follow the manga and is intended for ORIGINAL fans of the series. Not kids.

I'm not sure how to take this. For one thing, I guess it's exciting to see something follow closely to the manga as a lot of fans of the manga have wanted. Others have criticized the anime as being goofy and stupid. I thought the anime (both dub and Japanese) had a special charm to it in both ways so I'm a fan of both (I'm not critical when it comes to dubs vs subs etc). Personally, I treasure the anime/cartoon I grew up with and this gives me mixed feelings. I've not read the entire manga myself yet (I've only just finished what was out in America of the re-print and sparingly reading a fan-translation from MissDream) so I'm not sure if I "qualify" as an original fan. Does this statement separate fans? Fans of the anime, fans of just the manga, etc?

What are your opinions about it? Are you excited? Are you indifferent? It's probably being made as we speak since it's slated for a 2013 release. Do you think summer of 2013 is a bit of a rush to get it out? I'm probably going to watch it anyway because Sailor Moon is a major part of my growing up, but I'll make sure to read the entire manga before it comes out.

Brand New Fanlistings! / Android 18 (Dragon Ball Z)

I actually got approved for this fanlisting while I was away visiting my parents and I had no graphics program to work with. Thankfully my awesome friend Raine stepped in and helped me out! This layout ended up being a collaboration between the both of us: she did the style/layout and I did the coding for everything. It ended up turning out amazing and I'm proud to show it off. I love Android 18--she's my favorite female aside from Bulma. I really think she faded into the background a little too soon and could have been touched upon more. Ah well, she's still my favorite anyhow! Once I get back home I'll work on adding more buttons in more sizes. ^_^ For now, enjoy what I have!

I'm really exciting to open this fanlisting! :wub: Hanyu is one of my favorite characters from this series. :flower:  I really love how the layout came out; I think it was the colors and images I used. Came out how I imagined! I think I was a little too excited because this is the fastest I got something like this done before. :blush:  If you haven't watched the series, I highly recommend it! It's become one of my favorites of all time and that's saying something! Anyway I present Hanyu's fanlisting!

This took long enough (and the codes aren't even done! lol) but I finally got Gohan's fanlisting up I am floored and thankful that I get this opportunity! I hope you enjoy it! I really had fun with making the codes (it was a challenge, I'll give it that) and I still need to get the 100x50 size up still. I wanted to give him all the effort I could muster. Moved and Adopted Fanlistings / Anthy Himemiya & Utena Tenjou

I'm so so so ecstatic to present this because it's one of my most favorite OTPs of all time in manga/anime.  :hyper: Thank you Genevieve for making one of my fanlisting wishes come true!  :wub: Anthy and Utena mean so much to me and their relationship in this series is phenomenal. I've loved this pairing since I was a young pre-teen. With all the time moving to a new state, getting the fanlisting up has been a slow process. I've only now finished the codes so the about section will come up later this week, but it's very joinable! I kept the name of the fanlisting because it suited the pair so much.  :wub:

I don't see a topic discussing domain names for anime/manga purposes, so I thought I'd make one! (Hope that's okay! :blush: ) This topic can also be used to discuss anime/manga related domain musings you come up with or even recent purchases of animanga related domains! This topic isn't for really pimping domain layouts or anything, it's just a topic to discuss domain names. I hope this is okay?

To stay on topic, I got a coupon code from Facebook and I'm gonna use it for registering an anime series collective domain to house my fanlistings for the series! I'm really exicted!  :wub:  Since Namecheap on Facebook has a coupon code that will let you register a .com/.net/.org name for $1.99, has anyone gotten a coupon code and intends to use it for something related to anime or manga?

General Questions and Discussion / Small debate about Abilities/Powers

I have a question about abilities and powers not being approvable. Is there a reason why they are not? I would assume if someone possesses a power or ability that greatly affects a series in a broad spectrum, shouldn't it be allowed to be approved? Is there a way to make exceptions so that people who enjoy powers or abilities that fit the description can build fanlistings for such (and join) with significant proof? For example:

The Geass ability in Code Geass. The Geass ability is used by several characters, each being different to each user depending on personality. The power of Geass greatly influences/affects the series as a whole as well as the characters who posses it. I see this as a very approvable subject and I'm sure there are fans of this ability. I believe Character fanlistings cover their individual abilities and powers, but that is just as a character whole. What about the concept itself since the subject is a much broader concept that it's a subject all it's own?

My counter example could be this: An unapprovable ability is the ability of becoming a Super Saiyan (in Dragonball Z) since this ability is held by the Saiyan race. Although significant, it's restricted to a specific race and specific races are not approvable (I assume) and saying you are a fan of super saiyans means you are a fan of that race. I think the above example is much more broad and can hold it's own.

There are many series with significant abilities or powers that greatly influence a storyline in Anime/Manga, so I wanted to know the reasoning behind the rule? Suppose with applying for an ability or power, the person applying must provide examples so the concept is not misused. The approval could be case-by-case basis, Much like items and locations, they need to have an important significance to the series (such as Utena's sword in Revolutionary Girl Utena, Pokeballs in Pokemon). If abilities or powers can be seen as significant to a series, why can't they be approved as well?

I am aware we are allowed to build fanlistings for whatever we want regardless of approval by someone, but it'd be very nice if there was a chance to build things that are possible to be built and have them listed so others can join and enjoy them, as well as affiliate with anyone who might feel the same. Is there any possible room for reconsideration on any of these old rules to be seen with new eyes?

I sent a contact form two days ago regarding the troubles I'm having with my domain (The troubles with finding a decent host are endless it seems...) on BOTH it's registrar and the host I am currently with. I wanted to know if it was received? I cannot receive emails so I am posting here for the time being.
