Mostly, it depends if the owner is willing to give the domain the fanlisting is with. If the owner is not, you have to respect their wishes and host the fanlisting on a folder on your domain or a subdomain. :) They would usually leave a notice on the adoption post if they want to give away the domain to the person who is interested in applying to adopt the fanlisting.
