I am dusting off my old bones and settling back into a position that feels like home. I'll be handling Troubles for N-Z going forward. Please bear with me as I readjust to everything, and their should (hopefully) be an update shortly.

Brand New Fanlistings! / NARUTO: Gaara

Uhm, so it's been like... well over a year? ^_^;

A while ago, I was approved for my beloved Gaara, who, next to Naruto, is the reason I keep reading this shitty series. To my extreme embarassment, I had to throw up a temporary layout for a bit, but no more! I finally managed to give him a proper layout (and codes too, no way)!

It's time for TAFL to have its fourth annual Staff Volunteer Drive! We're always on the lookout for dedicated people who are interested in helping out the network! This rolls around just in time - I'm actually going to be doing some hiring here soon, so if you were on the fence about applying or were planning to submit and just haven't yet, get your apps in! Trouble Checker volunteers are always welcome too!

If you're interested in volunteering to be a trouble checker and/or a category staffer please fill out the appropriate forms found here. Be sure you read all of the requirements and fully complete the form before submitting it. Just remember, as fun as staffing and trouble checking can be, they are very time-consuming jobs and we only want the best!

N.B. If you have submitted a staff application in the past and wish to submit an updated application, please be sure to write the word, 'UPDATE' after you name.

News and Announcements / Holiday Troubles Hiatus + New Year Greetings!

With the holiday season just around the corner, this becomes a time where many of our staff and fanlisting owners travel for vacation and become busy with their respective festivities. This announcement serves to inform everyone that, once again, we will be holding our annual troubles hiatus.

This hiatus will last from December 21, 2010 through January 11, 2011 - it will only affect Troubles and TLOU updates. Therefore, during the hiatus period, no fanlistings will be placed on TAFL troubles.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, and expect normal Troubles updates to occur after January 4th.

News and Announcements / Clarification on Crosslisting

We want to take this opportunity to clarify our position on crosslisting fanlistings across the two networks. While it is true that we typically prefer to crosslist a fanlisting from TFL to TAFL (and vice-versa), we have noticed an alarming trend regarding this preference that has forced us to implement stronger stances and practices.

Over the past year, we’ve witnessed several applicants trying to gain an unfair upper-hand with approvals for popular subjects by taking advantage of our preference for crosslists. For example: by applying for the manga version of a character in the hopes of crosslisting it into the Games category at TFL, applying for the novel version of a relationship in the hopes of crosslisting it into the Relationships category at TAFL, etc. Essentially, applicants are applying for subjects that they otherwise would not have applied for, or are applying for subjects that they have no actual knowledge of or experience with, simply in the hopes of getting an easier approval (via crosslisting) into the Network/Category in which they actually want to be listed.
Because of this, we have decided that crosslisting will now be scrutinized extensively on a case-by-case basis and will no longer guarantee approval or necessarily give an applicant any kind of advantage. This will primarily affect the Characters and Relationships categories, where we have seen this trend happening the most. We will be coordinating with Jackie, the Games Staffer at TFL, to ensure that all fanlistings are going to the best homes we can possibly give them.

So, we have a lot of fresh, new faces around these parts and we have a lot of older faces returning to us! With that in mind, it felt like TAFL could use a good "get to know you" activity - we've always been a pretty close community, but I figured, what the heck? Why not try and encourage that even more! :wub:

What upcoming fanlistings at TAFL are you most looking forward to? Either something that you noticed in a category update or an adoption that you know took place - what anime/manga fanlisting has you so excited you're shaking?

Important note! We want this to be a fun and encouraging thread, so please, please, please, do not use it to pressure the new owner of a listing you might have been rejected for. Any comments akin to "Such and Such, because the new owner better love it as much as I do!" or "I hope the new owner of thing-and-that will do all the plans that I would have" will NOT be tolerated.
