Questions for the Senior Staff / Same Layout/Content for 2 fanlistings?
« on: August 25, 2006, 06:36:10 PM »
That's fine

Yes, the fanlisting is acceptable.  The characters are meant to be the same; it's a crossover by CLAMP of its various works.  You could argue that all the characters and relationships in Tsubasa are different from the original series.  However, they're meant to be the same characters as in the original series, so only one fanlisting will cover both.

You can remove members who have *invalid or non-existent e-mails*.  You shouldn't remove members who simply have full inboxes.  Also make sure that your host allows you to send out the e-mails - some hosts don't permit you to mail out more than 100 or 200 e-mails per hour.

Fanlistings Chit-Chat / Enthusiast Security Fix Available - Nov 2008
« on: April 29, 2006, 12:23:06 PM »
Eek, it seems there's something wrong with the fix.  I wouldn't download the one from Angela's site at the moment.  You can manually fix the file show_join.php by following this tutorial.

Fanlistings Chit-Chat / Enthusiast Security Fix Available - Nov 2008
« on: April 29, 2006, 12:09:20 PM »
Enthusiast has a security fix available at <a href="http://scripts.indisguise.org/" target="_blank"><a href="http://scripts.indisguise.org/" target="_blank"><a href="http://scripts.indisguise.org/" target="_blank">http://scripts.indisguise.org/

Edit: Angela's file currently has a problem.  On line 60 in the new show_join.php:

Code: [Select]
if( $_POST['email'] && ereg("^[_a-z0-9-]+(\.[_a-z0-9-]+)*@[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*(\.[a-z]{2,6})$", $_POST['email'])
should be:

Code: [Select]
if( $_POST['email'] && ereg("^[_a-z0-9-]+(\.[_a-z0-9-]+)*@[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*(\.[a-z]{2,6})$", $_POST['email']) )There seems to be missing an extra ) at the end.  So, if you download Angela's file, add in the extra ) before uploading.  I don't know if there're any other problems; Angela or one of the coding gurus will probably let us know. :]

In the meantime, if you still have problems, you can also edit the file show_join.php manually by following this tutorial.

UPDATE NOVEMBER 2008: See Indiscripts for the latest Enthusiast security upgrade (upgrade to version 3.1.5).

Questions for the Senior Staff / Seiyuu fanlistings
« on: April 29, 2006, 08:19:56 AM »
That would be fine.  Seiyuu and anime are obviously linked.  However, if a fanlisting is for someone who doesn't do any voice acting work in anime - such as a Japanese singer who has had no anime roles - it would not be posted about here.

You need to provide a date by which you'll be returning on the hiatus page.  And it can't be for an extended period of time (i.e., more than a month).

Questions for the Senior Staff / About the Upcoming Limit thing...
« on: October 29, 2005, 10:13:58 PM »
If you submitted a finished form, you must let the applications staffer know that in your application, along with the subject name, category name, and a link to the finished fanlisting so the apps staffer can verify it's been finished.

Questions for the Senior Staff / Is Co-owning allowed?
« on: May 08, 2005, 04:07:11 PM »
Yes, you can co-own fanlistings, but no, you don't need to state that in the application. -_-

Questions for the Senior Staff / A Question on Approved FLs
« on: March 09, 2005, 04:57:03 PM »
Yes, you can, just make a note in your applications that you've finished your other fanlistings, and include the finished URLs to them so that the staffer can verify they've been completed

Questions for the Senior Staff / A few questions..
« on: January 23, 2005, 01:25:03 AM »
As a clarification, it's not required to have an e-mail address to join FLs, except if a fanlisting says it is.  Basically, it's up to the owners of each fanlistings if they want to require e-mail addresses or not.  Most fanlisting owners do require valid addresses, for the reasons Mella said, but some don't. :x

Questions for the Senior Staff / Dubbed anime?
« on: January 19, 2005, 09:12:01 PM »
Yes, the TAFL fanlistings cover the original versions (both anime and manga versions), translated versions, and dubbed versions >:)  Even when it comes to changes and edits, they're pretty much the same thing.  I think most FLs at TAFL like the original or faithfully translated/dubbed versions best though <3

Questions for the Senior Staff / English VS Japanese
« on: January 18, 2005, 08:34:39 PM »
Just to clarify, songs in English or other languages are fine as long as they are for and are used in the original Japanese anime.  Songs for dubbed versions of anime would go at TFL >:)

Questions for the Senior Staff / song fanlistings
« on: January 16, 2005, 06:13:10 PM »
TAFL and TFL are completely separate, so there is no crosslisting between them.  You can apply in both networks if you want and use the same fanlisting, but just keep in mind that the networks are separate, so have different staffers and may have different policies, etc.

Questions for the Senior Staff / Neglecting members list?
« on: January 05, 2005, 02:34:57 AM »
Fanlisting updates involve adding members, updating member info, or stating that no new members have joined.  So, if a fanlisting isn't adding members or updating info, yes, you can report it :hyper:
