Affiliate Requests / Looking for Affiliates
« on: July 04, 2012, 09:36:26 AM »
It's so nice to see you back Kylara :D, welcome again!!!

Sadly, I don't think I have anything to affiliate with unless Manga could link with your Series fls?

Thanks Mitz! :D I would be more than happy to affiliate my series with your fanlisting for Manga and have added those links!

I was going to ask over at TFL but since I logged on this one first today...

Affiliate Chibi Chibi, Luna & Usagi, Minako & Artemis, Sailor Galaxia, and Ami & Rei perhaps?

I would love to! I've added all of those fanlistings as affiliates at my fanlisting for the first season of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon.

After several years of being pratically absent from the fanlisting world, I'm really glad that I've recently been able to devote some time to my fanlistings!  Most had inaccurate links and reaaally outdated layouts and I'm glad to say that's been fixed, for the most part :) Unfortunately, most of my affiliates are no longer functioning leaving most of my fanlistings with very few (if any!) affiliates.  If anyone has related subjects and would like to affiliate, please let me know!  Here are my fanlistings:

Characters
- Nanami Lucia (Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch)
- Alyssa Searrs (Mai HiME)
- Zepheris (Scrapped Princess/Sutepri)

Fanstuff
- Anime/Manga Fanfiction: Crossovers

Series
- Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (season one)
- Magic Knight Rayearth (season one)
- Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch

Congratulations! It looks lovely :) I've already joined or I'd be sure to do that as well ;)  Would you be interested in affiliating with the series and Lucia?

Okay! Found out a bit more for you :whistle:

Once you've completed the fanlisting and a moved form has been submitted (I personally would wait until the moved form has been processed and you get the confirmation e-mail that the URL was updated and the fanlisting is now listed under your name) you can submit a contact form to the Awards category AND reply in this thread asking Daphne if she got your form.

7
Yes, that's fine :whistle: You may keep the award; even though there is a new owner, there are still 250+ fans.  I believe that you should also submit some sort of form updating the URL listed in the Awards category, but let me double check before I have you submit anything!

General Questions and Discussion / Cancelled & ReOpened Fanlistings
« on: February 18, 2008, 01:44:35 PM »
There is nothing really that we as staffers can do about it.  We do not have access to the members list to give to new owners or to contact and let know the fanlisting was removed.  Additionally, we cannot require that people who own fanlistings contact members upon a fanlisting being closed/adopted/removed or even moved, for we would have little way of verifying that it is done.

If you want to contact the previous owner you may, though some people would be offended by it.  It would be nice if they would give you the members list and remove their fanlisting, or at least remove the link to TAFL, but there's nothing anyone can do about it.  Who knows, maybe the reason the fanlisting was removed was for neglect and the owner hasn't been online in months--in that case, there is little chance anything will ever happen with the fanlisting until the domain expires.

I would suggest joining webrings/cliques and affiliating your fanlisting with related subjects--owners of other fanlistings don't always realize when things are removed/closed either!  However, most would be happy to change their affiliation to the new TAFL approved fanlisting ^^;;

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell you if your application is there or not--my guess is a SS will need to e-mail you about it.  However, you can submit an updated application by writing your name followed by UPDATE, so in the name area put "Isil UPDATE"

You can then fill out a new application and have the old one removed.  That way everything is updated from what it was :wub:

General Questions and Discussion / English Title Problems
« on: December 16, 2007, 04:24:06 AM »
I'm not seeing how/why how we have it listed here would confuse people on what the series is about.  I doubt many people go through our list and base what an anime/manga is about purely on the title.  If anything, it would cause less confusion because although there is debate on the actual translation, apparently, there is no official translation and this is what most websites are calling it. I'm doing what I see best for the time being, and I feel that listing it how websites such as Anime News Network list this series would cause the least confusion because that's what it's known as, even if there is no place referred to as Eon in the series.

I've taken what both you and Mitzrael have said into account when making this decision, and as I've said, other staffers are more than welcome to put their input in on this as well.  Being both a Series & Relationships category staffer though, I like my series titles to reflect what ANN goes off of.  Should anything official be released I'm sure both ANN and our listings will reflect that new information.

I apologize if this response is a bit snippy; it's late here and I just wanted to make my explanation as clear as possible ^^;;

Wiki isn't a good website to go off of; staffers will generally take whatever ANN says before they'd consider what Wiki says.  For now I'm going to change how it's listed in the Series category (and I'll check to see if there is anything in Relationships) to the same as how it's listed in Characters--I don't see any reason to change it to another translation though.  There are 3 different ones and it seems like any would be acceptable, so I'll leave it with what ANN says :)

If any other staffer comes to a different conclusion it may be changed at a later time, but that's what I'll do for now ^^;;

General Questions and Discussion / Err, I need some help.
« on: December 07, 2007, 02:16:06 AM »
Yep! Like Chisa said, you should either reply directly to the troubles e-mail or submit a contact form to whichever category your fanlisting is in--Characters 0-M in this case :)  By submitting it to Trouble Checker Management, your form will have gone to the member of the Senior Staff who takes care of hiring trouble checkers, rather than the Category Staffer who actually deals with troubles updates.  Hopefully that clears up which is which for you!

General Questions and Discussion / E-mail problem
« on: October 31, 2007, 01:59:06 PM »
I also did not receive an e-mail either when I tried to retrive my password, before I remembered it myself.
What password?  TAFL doesn't have a password, so if you're trying to reset it from something and aren't getting it, it's quite possibly your e-mail account and not TAFL that is having issues.  That or check your spam folders, perhaps both your FLs list and your password are in it :)

...I just exited out of the tab I typed my super long response in, because I'm just awesome like that ; ;

Anywho!  This thread brings up a lot of good points.  And now I get to type/retype everything multiple times so I make sure to not offend anyone.

Limit on Pending/Upcoming fanlistings
This limit isn't perfect.  There are some people who could be approved for 10+ fanlistings, get them all finished on time, and take perfect care of every fanlisting they ever make.  However, there are also people who are approved for 6 and then fail to finish any on time and let them all be removed 2-3 months after being approved, and rarely take care of their current fanlistings.  In the first case, the limit would be too low.  In the second (and yes, I've seen that happen, more than once), the limit is far too high.  Six is a compromise, a middle ground.  I'm sorry for those of you who fit into the first category, but for the majority of this network, the rule works very well.  While I see and understand your point, it's not practical to change the rule for the few who would benefit.

As an applications staffer, I think that not enough people let me know when they've completed fanlistings.  I get maybe 2-3 applications a year that say "I've finished these fanlistings" and provided URLS to the completed fanlistings, in case the finished forms aren't processed before I get to the application.  If you've completed the fanlistings and let us know, we won't count them towards your limit of 6.

Relationships limit
To be honest, I don't really see why this is a problem.  It's been brought up before--why didn't anyone else throw in their comments then?  It just feels a smidge late to be bringing this up, in my opinion.  Like Shalott said, many of the legit relationships with more than 3 characters can be approved into the Characters category.  Those that don't, you may create a fanlisting for that's not approved by TAFL.  When I have to tell someone we cannot approve their request to create a fanlisting for 3+ characters, I try to always suggest that--and most of them are quite happy to hear they can create the fanlisting outside of TAFL.

Staff Elitism
Do you guys really have a problem with us?  ^_^ If a group of people are making someone else feel like crap, do you really think we have no right to politely tell that group to stop?  If people are talking about the same thing in multiple topics, is it wrong to close one and let them chat about it in the other?  We don't care to do it, to be honest.  Especially in the first case!  I, for one, would much rather have no one make anyone else feel like crap and have the staff not have to comment on it.

...and I think that's what I had to say, for the most part :o

General Questions and Discussion / The Codes Rule #2
« on: October 02, 2007, 01:06:57 PM »
This has come up before--I can't remember where/when exactly or I'd point you to that thread.  But basically what was said is that you can and will be troubled for confusing codes, regardless if they were donated or not.  Shalott's idea is great though, if you'd still like to put up the codes :frustrated:
