Questions for the Senior Staff / Applying for story arcs?
« on: October 29, 2004, 02:30:21 PM »
I apologize, I thought I'd answered this when you posted. ^^;; At any rate, I spoke with the rest of the SS and we'd rather stick to defined seasons, rather than story arcs, as we feel it will be too confusing, and overlap with existing season fls.

News and Announcements / .hack Subjects -- KNOWN DB BUG
« on: October 28, 2004, 03:05:00 PM »
We have only recently become aware that both at TFL and TAFL, we have had a known database bug that did not display .hack subjects, unless you clicked the "Show all subjects in category" link. As a result, we have renamed all .hack subjects to just "hack//whatever" (minus the dot).

All .hack// subjects can now be found under "H", listed as hack// .

I apologize for this error on both networks, and hopefully we can find a workaround so we can eventually list them as they were meant to be listed. In the mean time, please look for them under H. ^^;

News and Announcements / ATTN: ALL FL Applicants
« on: October 25, 2004, 05:35:35 PM »
Please note: Since this error was on our side, and not yours, if individuals would like to submit a contact form to the appropriate category and tell us which six to keep, which to throw away, we will allow it on this one occassion. Fair enough?

Again, I apologize for this gross coding error on my part, but at least this way you can let us know which six you want the most, although we will still hold firm to the limit of six. Since over 300 applications have already been submitted for Characters/Items, surely you can understand WHY we have this rule?  :lol:

News and Announcements / TAFL's Stance on Guestbooks/Auto-Add Scripts
« on: October 07, 2004, 12:34:05 PM »
This is taken from the TAFL Rules page:

Quote
It is up to you whether you update your list manually, or use a specific program that allows people to join and you approve from an admin panel (like phpFanBase or Enthusiast). Forms and scripts that add people as soon as they submit their information are no longer allowed. This includes Megabook and other guestbook programs. Subjects using these types of scripts will be required to switch to one of the above approved methods, or will be removed from the network. This form of auto-add script has been abused, and many a good subject been neglected by lack of effort on the part of the owner, forcing us to enforce this rule strictly.

As we are now over the initial transition period and the network is running smoothly, staffers will now be enforcing this rule. If you use this type of script, your site will be placed on troubles and you will need to switch to another method. As stated above, this is due to continual abuse and neglect by some owners using guestbook scripts. We hope that through this rule, fanlistings will be better taken care of. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter!

« on: September 27, 2004, 11:21:09 AM »
Are you talking about the free awards (25, 50, 100) or the major awards? We already have three types of the major awards to choose from... drop me an email at danielle{at}animefanlistings.org and we can talk. ^^

This also includes Sanrio, Barunson, Morning Glory and Orange Story characters. All of them are now in Toys and Collectibles. :unsure:

Adoption Center / Adoption Rules and Guidelines
« on: September 24, 2004, 05:25:10 PM »
In an attempt to keep some order in this forum, please read over these rules & guidelines and keep them in mind when utilizing this forum.

Rules
1) You may not put a fanlisting that is still on upcoming up for adoption. No staffer will change the ownership details of any upcoming fanlisting. If you don't want a fanlisting that's currently on the upcoming list, then you MUST send in a closed form. Everyone who wants the fanlisting can then apply for it.
2) Please do not use this forum for the adoption of the following: hatelistings, namelistings, fanlistings not approved by AnimeFanlistings.org. If your fl is listed at TheFanlistings.org ONLY (in other words, NOT listed at TAFL), please post your adoption thread in the TheFanlistings.org Adoption Centre, not this one. ^^;

Guidelines
All threads that have received replies but have been inactive for at least two weeks will automatically be closed. Replies indicate that someone was interested, and a lack of thread activity indicates that the adoption is completed. If one of the Senior Staff closes a thread that isn't resolved, then you can always contact us for it to be reopened.

If you have any suggestions on how to make the Adoption forum more orderly and user friendly, please don't hesitate to contact the Senior Staff. Thank you!

Questions for the Senior Staff / Posting Guidelines
« on: September 19, 2004, 01:50:47 AM »
This forum can be used if you would like to ask the Senior Staff a question and do not want to get involved in any kind of discussion with the other board members. Think of it as an extension of the FAQ section at http://www.animefanlistings.org/faqs.php :D

Controversial opinions/questions originally aimed at the Senior Staff have been posted in the past, and other board members have jumped in and defended their points of view, because we're all very passionate about fanlistings and things can get heated sometimes! A lot of the time, though, the original poster didn't want a debate and just wanted an explanation from the Senior Staff. This is what this forum is for.

The only people who can reply to topics in this forum are Danielle, Jackie, Kel, Kris, Rosemary, and Shell - the TAFL Senior Staff team. We will always be accurate with our responses in this forum and will remain objective at all times, giving you the facts as they currently stand. No heated debates will take place, so if you want a straight-forward and painfree answer to a question without any kind of discussion, post here! :)
