If you adopt a fanlisting, can the domain be transferred to my domain and hosting account?
Mostly, it depends if the owner is willing to give the domain the fanlisting is with. If the owner is not, you have to respect their wishes and host the fanlisting on a folder on your domain or a subdomain. 
They would usually leave a notice on the adoption post if they want to give away the domain to the person who is interested in applying to adopt the fanlisting.
