A friend of mine used to own a few fanlistings here. Karasu, Karasu and Kurama to name a few. Currently she's still having financial problems and cannot run a fanlisting. She doesn't have internet service. She's the one who recently told me about this site because we're big fans of the same characters. She still has a few buttons from her fl's and I wanted to use them. Only problem is that she doesn't remember who donated them. Is it alright if I still use them?

Another question another friend of mine want to apply for fl's on my pc while she's staying over. But I don't want it to look like I'm just using a different name to apply for more fanlistings because it's going to be the same IP as the one I used to apply for mine under. I was wondering if that's a problem.

For your first question, I'm not quite sure what you're asking so I'll leave that for another staffer to answer or for you to rephrase, but as for your second question that'd be fine.  So long as she is the one who is doing the work on the fanlisting, updating, etc.  Also, the website URL she provides has to be her own, and so long as she includes in the comments field that she's staying at a friends house who also applies for fanlistings that sound be fine.  It's only when someone uses aliases and applies for quite a large number of fanlistings that we consider it a problem ^_^

Thanks for your help. The first questions is just if I can use her donated buttons even if she doesn't remember who donated them.

TAFL has no policy regarding this, it's up to your own judgement.  Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it.  I would include the donated buttons and say that they were donated and that you don't have the URLs/names anymore and that if whoever donated wants to be credited they can e-mail you *shrugs*

oh well, this is the first time in more than a year that something like that happened to me ,so before doing anything else I though in asking first ^^u

today (beetwen 3-5pm) I lost (though not confirmed yet by the host company) all my DBs information and because of that fact, all my fanlistings have sql problems (they can't conect, either approve or email members). I've inmediatly requested assistance from my host company and still waiting an answer/solution. Meanwhile if what i fear most is confirmed, which means if I my Dbs have actually been erased, I still have my backup so there's no major lost either in that matter.
my wondering is if I should send a contact form with details of my fls and probably hostees under each category or there is some easy way like a general email ,or even direct staffers email ,to send them a message with each category separated and well detailed?
My fear there is getting a certain amount of fls in troubles, when this problem is out of my hands, at least for this moment .

thank a lot for your time! :furious:

I would think that the best idea would be to submit a contact form for each category that you have fanlistings under.  If you want to submit for your hostees also, for something like this that'd be ok (typically you shouldn't submit forms for other people, but as you're not changing information this'll be fine) and just include which fanlistings are in that category and the URL to this post, for example, something like this:

Quote
Hi,

My domain is currently having database errors, as explained here:
http://board.animefanlistings.org/index.php?showtopic=9045

The fanlistings in your category that are affected by this are:
- fanlisting 1
- fanlisting 2
etc...

If you could please not put these fanlistings on troubles for the time being I would really appriciate it!  I'll keep you updated on the database issues, and thank you for your time :x

I would then say to e-mail the staffers weekly (though it shouldn't take more than two weeks, I would think) to let them know what's up or when the issue is resolved to say that everything's fine :furious:;

I have an issue where apparently somone keeps using someone else's e-mail address to sign up for one of my fanlistings.  The person keeps replying to the Enthusiast generated e-mails, saying that she does not wish to be part of it.  I have replied a couple of times stating that I have removed her, and that someone else is using her e-mail.  However, that person keeps doing that.

What should I do about this, since this person seems to be getting more and more annoyed each time.

If you wanted you could probably e-mail them and say something along the lines of

Hi -name-,

I know you've been getting quite a few e-mails from me about you joining my fanlistings that you have not joined.  I'm not sure what I can do at this point other than if you would let me know that you have no desire to join any of my fanlistings at this time I can delete any future join forms from this e-mail address.  Of course, if you decided to join any of them later on you could e-mail me to let me know, and I would make sure you would be added to that fanlisting.

Other than that, there's nothing I can do about you getting the e-mails saying you've joined if it's someone else using your e-mail address.  You could set up filters, perhaps, to put all of the e-mails from my address into the trash, or change e-mail addresses, but there is nothing I can personally do.

Sorry about the problems with this!

-your name-

Unless, of course, someone else has any ideas, but I really don't know of anything you can do.  If you got her to say that she didn't want to join any of your fanlistings, there shouldn't be an issue with you deleting her when she gets added.  Meep, hopefully someone else has an idea for you, but I'm afraid that's all I can think of <3
