My top 4 TAFL listings for absolutely keeping are Sanctuary, Crying Freeman, Peach Girl, and Kei & Ranmaru.

not that anyone's clamoring for Sanctuary or Freeman ... such good series and they don't get nearly the love they should

I was going to make it a top 5, but I really couldn't pick between D & Leon, Shinji & Kaworu, and Utena & Anthy, so they'll all have to share being the next level.  But I'm not likely to get rid of any of them soon either.  *snuggles all her favorite relationship listings*

I will say, my actual top three all-time keepers are TFL listings, including the first fanlistings I ever opened.  ^_^

General / Question about the yaoi/shoune-ai genre listings
« on: November 08, 2005, 03:21:26 PM »
I know that the genre categories have been defined the way they are by the Western usage of the terms "shounen-ai" and "yaoi," and the Western fanbase uses them to refer to male/male romances that are non-adult v. adult.  I mean, by the Japanese usage of the words, the Western fanbase isn't using "yaoi" or "hentai" correctly either - and I'm not even sure there is a "shoujo-ai" outside of hentai, or a "yuri" outside of hentai.  But the Western fanbase has co-opted the terms to refer to ... well, for lack of a better term here ... non-adult v. adult femmeslash.

So, that's a bit of background for you.  I know it doesn't answer the question.  The ultimate answer as to whether or not TAFL will  continue to go by the Western fanbase usage of the words to refer to genres, or go to Japanese usages (june, anyone?), is probably best left to Shadow, or the SS.

General / Am I allowed?

Well, Loki, I'm sure you've already gotten the bad news, but in consultation with the other staffers and in checking the existing TAFL fanlisting, the message boards are already covered in that listing.  That's why I said I'd check - meaning that I'd check with the other staff members.  So, I'm sorry if I got your hopes up.

I think if there's a separate listing for TFL and for the TFL Message Board that it should be good.  I'll check to make sure.
