Hi staffers,

I'm just CURIOUS on something, as I know alot of popular comics like Death and Darkchylde are now going manga-style...but with their original creators....HOWEVER, I noticed that the comic Witchblade has now gone manga style (authentic) with a whole new writer and design, but still affiliated with Top Cow (the publisher). So my question is, "mangas" like this, should they put refered to TFL or applied for here? I'm not currently interested in applying for this fanlisting, I was just curious what happens if something like this arises? Also it's being released as an anime...

This a quote from the Top Cow site itself:

WITCHBLADE MANGA #1

Cover: Sumita, Gossett, & Gonzo
Writer: Yasuko Kobayashi
Pencil: Kazasa Sumita
Released: February 8, 2007
Pages: 40

Top Cow and Bandai Entertainment proudly present the Witchblade, diving into the popular world of manga with this authentic Japanese series. Takeru is an average schoolgirl being raised in a Buddhist monastery by a group of nuns. Except for the forbidden wicked-looking claw locked in a box that keeps appearing in her dreams! That’d make a relationship with cute Kou hard enough, but when a group of mysterious, black clad monks show up at the monastery, the Witchblade chooses its newest bearer! Originally serialized in Japan’s popular magazine, Champion Red and written by Witchblade Anime head writer, Yasuko Kobayashi, this uniquely Japanese tale is considered part of the Witchblade canon. Now collected for the first time for an American audience in standard comic format and in full color, plus this first issue is double-sized for the same low price! Three covers by original artist Kazasa Sumita, Christian Gossett (The Red Star), and a special Witchblade Anime cover by Studio Gonzo (Witchblade Anime, Afro Samurai, Chrono Crusade)!

Actually this manga series would be included in the already approved anime fanlisting for the same subject.  But to answer your question....if the series is published in Japan first in Japanese and then translated and released in English, it is approvable.
