I have several like this (and a bunch at TFL too) My fanlisting motto is that patience almost always pays off in the end (seriously I have some fanlistings I had to try for four or five times)! This will be long because I always like to add the stories to all of these.
In no particular order:
Nakano Hiroshi (Gravitation) - suzumi was adopting him about about four or five times, but then ended up keeping him. I think I was the only one who applied a few of those times. When she did adopt him out, I wasn't picked. *sadface* Time went by and I noticed that the fanlisting hadn't moved. I emailed her to ask if she had ended up not adopting it out (why yes, I do often live on my nerve xD; ). Turns out the owner she had picked wasn't able to get him up due to personal issues and eventually *I* got to adopt him!! <3
Kamina Ayato (RahXephon) - Ayato was approved then never got built several times. I finally decided to apply and the first time my application never was received. He got approved to someone else who conveniently for me did not build him. I applied again, again my application did not get through (was the freakiest thing). Finally, third times was the charm, my app got through okay and I was approved.
Yukishiro Tomoe (Rurouni Kenshin) - Tomoe is probably my most favorite character in any anime/manga series. Back when anime/manga fanlistings were still at TFL I applied and was rejected for Tomoe. I was lucky to host her fanlisting after awhile though, which made me quite happy. The owner decided to adopt her out and I almost missed it (thank goodness for Jackie giving me the heads up!). I applied and happily was chosen to adopt her. <3333
Himura Kenshin & Yukishiro Tomoe (Rurouni Kenshin) - This fanlisting is so special to me. I adore their relationship more than words. This was actually one of my very first fanlistings. I co-owned it was a then friend. This was long before the networks actually listed co-owners (his information was listed in the database, which I did not realized at the time). Much angst and drama ensued and he took the fanlisting. I never stopped believing I'd own it again. Eventually it got removed, I applied and joyfully was approved again! :birthday:
Kare First Love - When this was adopted out years ago I applied, but was too late by a few hours (the old owner even told me they wished they hadn't decided so soon since they would have given it to me if they hadn't already told someone else they had it ;_; ). Years go by, but it was finally removed, I applied and now own it!
Haibane Renmei - Applied and was rejected. Owner adopted it out, I applied and was chosen as the new owner. :hug:
