^ You know, since that's not actually a posted rule, it was kind of mean of you to edit my post like that when you could have just done something (like I did now) to mark it as a spoiler. =/
This is a rule and has been part of the Board Guidelines since TAFL was founded. Under Posting Regulations:
Spoilers: Please be aware that while you might want to discuss the latest manga volume, series episode, etc., we have fans from all around the world, and they may not have seen/read it. Label any threads that contain spoilers with a warning in the subject (i.e., Fruits Basket [spoilers inside]). Just because a series has been around for ages doesn't necessarily mean everyone is familiar with it. Take a moment and think to yourself, if you were unfamiliar with this series, would the information you are posting spoil it for you? If the answer is yes, then note it as a spoiler to be safe.
This is not a
Bleach thread, nor is it marked that spoilers might be contained within. It is a
general thread about what the lastest chapter you're reading is - that doesn't mean people want to be spoiled about what said chapter contains. This fact has also been pointed out in several other places in regards to actual fanlistings, character names, and whether something is approvable. I, personally, have edited out major spoilers from my own category forums, because spoilers do not belong on this board unless they are in the appropriate threads and
clearly marked. Personally, I don't really care for huge, spaced out posts to highlight some text, because it hinders my experience on the board - what if I didn't even want to read those spoilers? What if everyone else started posting the same way? But again, personal preference.
If you have further questions on this practice, please send in a contact form to Shalott, who is the Board Administrator. In the meantime, please stick to the topic at hand.
