I watch Kdramas a lot more than Jdramas, to be honest. My Lovely Sam-Soon is easily my favorite still, after all these years, even more so now because I can relate with it even more, LOL. That and Full House are really, really great if you love a good combination of comedy/angst. Country Princess is another great one for humor - seriously, one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.
But~ I have to mention the Nodame Cantabile drama here, because it is simply amazing. Probably my favorite drama adaptaion to date - Tamaki Hiroshi and Ueno Juri just become Chiaki and Nodame and are just perfect, as is the rest of the cast.
I also watched the Zettai Kareshi drama but didn't like how it departed from the manga.
Will have to disagree with you there - I felt it was a very good adaptation and took a lot of risk branching out the way it did. While certain parts of it were definitely annoying to me (mostly Soushi's characterization), it was interesting to see them try and make it more relatable and presentable for modern Japan and the people who would be watching. I especially thought the way they made Night more "robotic" was a neat touch, because it made his transgression into human consciousness all the more personable and appreciated. Mokomichi Hayami took getting used to, but he did an admirable job and had great chemistry with Aibu Saki. Mizushima Hiro, while a great actor, was more frustrating, because it seemed like his was playing Masaki (as Soushi).
